Skipping

This week I completed 8 skipping challenges. The first 2 were quite easy for me but the rest were a bit harder than I thought. I have only just learnt how to do cross over skips and I can only do it with a long rope. Next week I want to try the extra hard challenges.

We also did a day of skipping with the other senior classes. There were stations that we went to. We went around in our houses and because I'm the house leader of Kea, I had keep my house under control. At the stations we did: relays, freestyle, partner skipping, long rope and skipping for as long as you can.
At the skipping for as long as you can station we did rounds. The first round was boys, then girls then everyone. For the boys round Oscar and Eli won. For the girls round I tied with Maia. When it was everyone together the winners didn't need to do it because we were going to be in the the champion round. Kyra won the round with every one in it. Overall everyone won because no one stopped.

Letter to the editor

I have chosen this topic because I think it should happen. Hopefully you agree when you read my letter.
We were learning to write persuasively and explain our opinions.

Why Everyone should have free access to health care.

Success Criteria
  • state your opinion on the topic
  • give a couple of examples that match your opinion
  • purpose is to convince
  • short and to the point
  • start with ‘dear editor’ and finish with ‘sincerely…’
  • no waffling
  • Use a topic sentence to start a paragraph.

Dear Editor,
People should have the ability to go to the doctor when required. People that are poor are more likely to get sick than people that are wealthy. People that are poor will have not as many substantial facilities than people that are wealthy which leads to sickness. Poor people will not have the money to go to the doctors which means they will get even more ill. Later in their life they will have to go to hospital. If the doctors are free more people will go and get it checked. If they don’t it could lead to something very serious. To prevent this problem we should have free access to health care.

Sincerely,
Georgia Miller

Rosemary

Dancing sensation
Great imagination
Little bit crazy
Not very lazy
Talented at singing
Loves to go swimming
Ten-decibel yeller
Smile seller
Loves to be tidy
Really quite fighty
Netball legend
Can give people lessons
Such a great friend
Always wears the trends
When I walk around the bend
I see a great friend
Strikes a pose
